In our quest for personal growth and development, we find ourselves consistently confronted with a choice: to grow in spite of a little discomfort or stay where we are hoping for ease. Each of us is imbued with a unique purpose and potential. From the very drafting table of the ALL, we have been equipped and designed to grow and evolve. However, while some aspects of our growth are pre-programmed through our genetic and instinctual makeup, especially in our earlier developmental years, there comes a pivotal moment in every soul’s journey where growth cannot occur merely through momentum or chance. It requires a conscious choice.

The Spiritual Mandate for Growth

The call to grow is not just a personal decision; it is a spiritual mandate. Scripture reminds us in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) that we are entrusted with gifts meant to be cultivated and expanded. This divine expectation invites us to reflect on how we engage with our spiritual journey. Are we nurturing our innate potential, or are we allowing it to lie dormant?

While some growth is instinctual, true transformation requires our active participation. Proverbs 4:7 teaches us that wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, we must seek it diligently. It is through this quest for wisdom that we align ourselves with our divine purpose.

The Choice to Grow: A Pathway to Awakening

Growth is fundamentally a choice, a conscious decision to engage with the unfolding of our spiritual lives. It is essential to recognize that stagnation leads to the hardening of the heart, as we become disconnected from the vibrant flow of divine wisdom. Romans 12:2 calls us to be transformed by the renewal of our minds, a process that demands intention and effort.

When we neglect to pursue growth, we risk falling into patterns of cynicism, doubt, and fear. These emotions can cloud our vision, trapping us in a cycle of frustration and limitation. However, we are not destined to remain in these states. There is a better way!

Embracing the Flow of Information

Choosing to grow means being open to the information and insights that the universe presents to us. It is not just about absorbing words from articles or sermons but engaging with the flow of divine wisdom that surrounds us. Reflect on the messages and experiences that resonate with your spirit. This receptivity allows us to participate in a new operating system of spiritual unfoldment.

Consider adopting practices such as meditation, prayer, or journaling to cultivate a deeper connection with the divine. These practices create space for reflection and insight, empowering us to understand our spiritual journeys more profoundly.

The Consequences of Non-Growth

It is crucial to understand that failing to choose growth leads to the hardening of our hearts and minds. The collective unconscious can influence our choices, pulling us into a state of disengagement. However, by awakening our awareness, we can break free from these patterns.

By choosing to grow, we open ourselves to new perspectives and possibilities. We move beyond cynicism and doubt, embracing hope, faith, and security. We become vessels of light, reflecting the goodness of our Creator in our lives.

The Ongoing Journey of Growth

As we embark on this journey of growth, it is essential to remember that spiritual awakening does not happen overnight. It unfolds gradually, step by step. “To him who has, more will be given” (Matthew 25:29) encourages us to cultivate the gifts we have, knowing that as we nurture them, more blessings will flow into our lives.

Growth is a choice that each of us must consciously make. It is an invitation to step into the fullness of our divine purpose and embrace the ongoing journey of spiritual development. Reflect on your current state of growth—what changes can you implement to deepen your connection with your spiritual self?

Let’s create a community of seekers committed to growth, sharing our insights and experiences as we collectively move toward a higher state of consciousness.
